Title Visits of UK ministers to the USA; including visit by Secretary of State for Defence (1973)
Description Background notes on President Nixon's visit to Europe as an a culmination of his "Year of Europe", transatlantic relations and declarations of principles in all fields including political, military and economic. Proposed visit to the US by Kenneth Baker MP, Civil Service Department to look at the use of computers in government and CPRS and PAR. Lord Carrington, Secretary of State for Defence, visit to the US to meet with the US Secretary of Defense, Mr James Schlesinger and discuss the North Atlantic Alliance as well as meeting with Dr Kissinger and members of the House of Representatives and the Senate.
